Returns & Withdrawal Policy

Rūbas is a marketplace where private individuals sell to private individuals. The return rules follow from that, so here's the plain, honest explanation.

Purchases from private sellers

The statutory 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract (Lithuanian Civil Code, EU Consumer Rights Directive) applies only when a consumer buys from a trader. Rūbas sellers sell as private individuals, so this right does not apply to marketplace purchases.

This means a winning bid or a Buy Now purchase is final. Before bidding, read the description and measurements carefully, review all photos, and if anything's missing — ask the seller via messages.

If the item doesn't match the description

A final purchase doesn't leave you unprotected. If the item you receive differs materially from the description or photos — for example undisclosed major flaws, a different size than stated, or the item isn't authentic — do this:

  1. Within 48 hours of delivery, message the seller via Rūbas: describe the problem and attach photos.
  2. If you can't resolve it with the seller, report it to us at info@rūbas.lt — we'll review the listing, the conversation and the evidence.
  3. In justified cases we mediate the return of the item to the seller and the refund to the buyer. For counterfeits, the prohibited-items rules apply — such listings are removed and seller accounts may be blocked.

Always send a returned item by a tracked method and keep the proof of postage.

Withdrawing from the Rūbas service

The platform itself is operated by MB Borealis. Using a Rūbas account is free, so you can close your account at any time by writing to us — there are no service payments to refund.

If, as a consumer, you wish to formally withdraw from the service contract within 14 days of registering, you may use the model form below or any other clear statement.
